Sedona, Arizona

Hi, everyone. I'm back from Sedona, Arizona, where I went with The Hubby for his firm's yearly partner meeting. (There was a little bit of business done, and a whole lot of enjoying the beautiful countryside and fun activities.)

We stayed at the Enchantment Resort, which is nestled into a box canyon. It is a beautiful natural setting. The entire resort is just gorgeous.

This is the entrance to the spa, where I could have spent the rest of my life if they'd let me:

The grounds are landscaped with lots of desert shrubs and plants:

Everything is thoughtfully laid out for maximum beauty. Even the lowly fire-extinguisher cabinets are fronted with mirrors, not glass, so you don't see the ugly canister within:

At the end of each day, we drifted over to an outdoor patio with a spectacular view of Sedona's  famous red rocks. A bartender, a fully stocked bar, and a cheerful fire made this one of my favorite places:

I noticed an unusual garnish in the bar's lineup:

Fuschia-colored wedges of crystallized cactus candy. When I was a child, I lusted after cactus candy on our yearly cross-country car trips, but my parents always said No.

I am happy to say that the bartender said Yes! (The stuff tastes like those jellied, semicircular fruit candies you see in grocery stores around Passover.)

In the next few posts, I'll be sharing more images from Sedona and Arizona in general. It's a very special corner of the world.

I mean, where else can you find teal-green arches at McDonald's? Nowhere, actually.
