Petite Grandfather Clock

I stumbled on yet another roadside treasure while out walking a pug a few days ago: A petite-sized grandfather-style clock. It doesn't have a pendulum; it runs on a battery, and it's not antique, but doesn't it have a cute look?:

It's only 2 feet, 8 inches tall, from the base to the top of the little decorative arch on top:

At first I thought maybe it was placed in a neighbor's trash can because it didn't work. But I popped a fresh battery in the back, and it started right up! I love the old-fashioned look of the clock face:

And below, it has storage space:

This would be great near a front or back door, where you could stash your keys or wallet or dog leashes.

And if you don't want to rest it on a table, as in the photo above, it can be hung up:

The paint--a deep, slightly bluish pine green--is slightly scuffed. It would be easy to repaint, because it's so small and composed mostly of flat surfaces. I can also see it decorated for Christmas with a small wreath surrounding the clock face. Can't you, Mu Shu?

Mu Shu doesn't really know about that. What he knows is, Mom says "Clock party!," and he tilts his head.

My neighborhood's alleys are a neverending supply of All Things Cute.
