Herbal Bounty

My friend C has a wonderful herb and vegetable garden. A day or two ago, she cut back some of her herbs in preparation for moving them from one bed to another. With less stuff on top, the herbs put their energy into growing more roots, which will help them survive the move. C knows stuff like that!

Anyhow, she needed to give away bunches of herbs. And I mean bunches!

I received oregano. Mmmm, I can smell Mexican tortilla soup!:

And rosemary, which makes me dream of roast chicken stuffed with lemon and rosemary:

And sage. I'ts just begging to be quick-fried in olive oil, then roughly chopped and tossed on top of baked fish. Or a salad. Or baked in focaccia bread:

Last, I received thyme, which always smells like a French brasserie to me. Cue the Pot-a-Feau and Coq au Vin!

This is just half the bounty C gave me. The other half is in the fridge, waiting for Lovely Daughters #1 and #2 to take it home to their kitchen and turn it into wonderful stuff.

Thank you, C! Your generosity makes me a better cook!
