Layover in Paris

I haven't mentioned it here yet, but I'm on a bit of an adventure. I'm spending five weeks in Dubai, seeing friends and the city and the craziness for myself. I'm a little overwhelmed by it all, actually. Currently, I'm in a friend's apartment looking out on the tallest building in the world, the tallest hotel in the world, and the largest fountain in the world. Seriously, it's like a man-made lake. With water jets. And an entire hotel is in the middle of it, like on an island. Who dreams this stuff up?

That, however, is not the point of today's post. Today is all about Paris. I had a few hours of layover on my way to Dubai, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

As could be expected, my first stop after an overnight flight was the bathroom. And what did I find but the most chic fashion-forward bathroom ever?

Pink! Cute heels! Dress forms with boas! Models with cocktail dresses and shirtless under menswear! This is really just some crappy airport terminal bathroom. But seriously, I fell in love.

Next stop: something to eat. I bought a crusty roll and a small wheel of soft cow's milk cheese wrapped in unidentifiable leaves. It was a perfectly simple, perfectly French lunch.

And then, I saw this:

Hoo baby, come to mama.

Macarons!

Laudree had twelve flavors. Obviously, I couldn't pick and choose--pistachio? Caramel? Rose? So I got one of each. Seemed the best idea at the time, really.

Although now I think two of each would have been even better. Good thing I'm stopping in Paris again on my way back!

  1. Fabulous!! I love it - the artsy airport bathroom, cheese and bread photo that made my mouth water, and the most beautiful macaroons ever! (Lucky you!)xoxo
