Spring beauties at the farmers market

I was so taken with this cabbage at a recent University Farmers' Market. Yes, cabbage is a winter veggie. And yes, I'm incredibly excited by the asparagus and baby spinach that's finally in the market after a long winter of root veggies. But really, isn't this gorgeous?



Speaking of gorgeous, I found this lovely lady sitting at the entrance to the market, with one of the market helpers/info people keeping an eye on her while her owner shopped. I see a pug almost every weekend I'm at the market, and it never fails to put a big smile on my face.
