Zoe

I live in a big city. A reeeeeally big city. Some might say my city has too many people. I know for sure it has too many homeless animals.

So twice a month I volunteer at a local adoption faire, helping to find homes for some of these adorable critters. Like Zoe, here. Last week, her owners surrendered her, and it must've broken their hearts. They knew her birthdate (January 22, 2005). They dressed her in a pink collar studded with rhinestones. They said their goodbyes and turned her over to a system that can't promise that she'd find a new family. That she'd even survive the week.

But Zoe is one of the lucky ones. A young couple with a house, a yard, and a big ol' Maine Coon cat took her home.

Now her biggest worry is going to be how to learn to share the love with a feline who probably outweighs her by four or five pounds!

If you're thinking of adding a dog or cat to your family, or if you know anybody who is, please, please consider adopting one of these lovely, previously owned pets. It's recycling at its best!
