Cakespy show at Trophy Cupcakes

One great thing about living in Seattle is the wonderful assortment of restaurants, bakeries, and food blogs you can find in this city. I discovered Trophy Cupcakes months ago and loved it at first sight. Big beautiful cupcakes, good quality ingredients, and a retro cocoa and blue color scheme? Perfect! So when I heard that Jessie Oleson from Cakespy was hanging a show there, I couldn't have been happier.

The Cakespy art opening at Trophy Cupcakes last night was fantastic. It was great to meet Jessie; she's so sweet.

The art was adorably arranged in a random pattern over two walls, which made it even more whimsical to look at Cuppie's adventures through Seattle.

Trophy went all-out with pink punch, champagne, and of course cupcakes!

They had a big tier of minis with pink frosting...

...and a few batches of big cupcakes with Cakespy art printed on top and rolled along the sides in pink and white sprinkles.

Almost too cute to eat, but so good that you couldn't resist! Every time a baker set down a batch, it was devoured in seconds. I actually had to go behind the bar to where they were prepping the cupcakes to get these close-ups, because there was no time to get to them once they were put out on the table for guests!

Best of all--I bought three Cakespy originals! Cuppie at the space needle, in Pike's Place, and at Safeco field now grace my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier.

Thanks, Jessie! Thanks, Trophy! It was a wonderful event.
