Pike's Place Market
I really love Pike's Place market, tourist trap though it is. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny afternoon so I went downtown after work to poke around. I found some beautiful flower stands, delicious produce, and plenty of good people watching. I didn't realize daffodils came in so many colors! Didn't really see much of them growing up in L.A.
I'm not sure if this was purposeful or not, but the sign for "bloo berries" definitely caught my eye. Too bad they were not local, conventionally grown, and expensive. Summer will come soon enough... I just have to keep telling myself that.
I am, however, very grateful for the fabulous variety of mushrooms that grow locally in Washington. I didn't buy any from this stand, but today in the grocery store I bought a "variety pack" of sorts of dried mushrooms. I plan to stir-fry them up with green beans and tofu tomorrow night: instant kosher-for-passover dinner! Delish.
